130,000 Sq Ft Deal Caps Record Year at Stonebridge
Stoford Developments has agreed a 130,000 sq ft pre-let at its 80 acre Stonebridge Cross business park, Droitwich, with food industry logistics specialist Atchison Topeka.
The development, now under construction, represents the largest pre-let agreement at the 80-acre park, developed by Stoford for Axa Sun Life and situated close to Junction 5 of the M5 motorway in Worcestershire
Atchison Topeka has agreed a 15 year lease for Plot 301 at Stonebridge Cross. The company will be relocating from its existing Worcester base to the new site, which incorporates temperature-controlled, food-grade warehousing and quality office accommodation within a spacious, landscaped environment.
“This deal brings disposals at Stonebridge Cross to over 400,000 sq ft in the last calendar year,” said Jason Adderley Director at Stoford, “and is our largest ever pre-let shed development. We are now seriously considering speculatively developing the remainder of the site with a further 225,000 sq ft of warehousing during 2007.”
He continued "We're delighted that Atchison Topeka have decided to join us, this and the raft of deals earlier this year have firmly established Stonebridge Cross as the distributors location of choice on the northern M5 corridor."
As part of the agreement, Stoford and Axa Sun Life are acquiring two freehold properties close to M5 Junction 6 at Worcester from Atchison Topeka, to be refurbished and disposed of in 2007.
Atchison Topeka will join Robert Wiseman Dairies, TM Logistics, BUPA and Kimal amongst others at the Worcestershire distribution centre.
