Roadworks Kick-Start New HQ Scheme
The first phase of a new £40 million headquarters scheme in Solihull has got off the ground with the start of work by Edgbaston-based Stoford Developments on a major road link.Stoford and Morley Asset Management are carrying out £600,000 of improvements to the A34 Stratford Road at Junction 4 of the M42 to enable new offices to be built at the 200,000 sq ft Aspire business park.
The design and build specialist has commissioned Laser Civil Engineering Ltd to improve the roundabout outside the local Tesco store, install traffic lights and increase the number of lanes to four.
These will include a dedicated slip road to Aspire that will provide access to the M42 and to Birmingham and Solihull.
Dan Gallagher, Stoford Business Development Manager, said: "The highway work represents a major milestone in the development of Aspire, one of the most sought-after locations for a company headquarters in the Midlands.
"It will enable us to start work on constructing the high-quality office accommodation that should provide a major boost to the Midlands economy."
