Stoford Cement Partnership with Lafarge
Stoford Developments' reputation for developing high quality pre-let projects was highlighted with the showcasing of Portland House, a striking £22million sustainable landmark office complex in Solihull.
Stoford secured the record-value pre-let deal with the UK's leading cement manufacturer Lafarge Cement to build their new 60,000 sq ft UK headquarters, which is the most innovative and environmentally advanced building in the area.
Portland House is set on a leafy three-acre site immediately adjacent to Birmingham International railway station and Birmingham International airport and offers extensive car parking facilities.
Dan Gallagher, Stoford Director, said: "It is an outstanding, architecturally designed building, strategically located with unsurpassed communication networks and is the result of working in close partnership with a client – Lafarge – and their delivery team.
"It is also a fantastic example of how Stoford has worked in partnership with a major organisation to develop yet another high quality scheme."
Lafarge's Land and Planning Director David Simms said: "Portland House really demonstrates the use of cement and concrete as sustainable building materials and our high rating under BREEAM recognises these properties."
The scheme is the largest pre-let office deal on the M42 since Stoford pre-let 71,000sq ft to Sendo Holdings Plc less than a mile away in 2000.
