Leading West Midlands Developer, Stoford Retail has submitted a planning application to Sandwell Metropolitan Council on behalf of Midlands Co-operative Society for the development of a new convenience store, brand new veterinary surgery and 2,000 sq ft of further retail.

Carl Stacey of Stoford Retail said ‘We are delighted to be working with Midlands Co-operative Society again and believe that the new development will be a valuable addition to the Tividale area.’

He added ‘This site has been vacant for a number of years and the development will create around 30 new jobs and provide a valuable facility for local residents.

The Planning application was submitted today (Friday 20th May), and if approved we would expect the new development to be completed by spring 2012.’

The scheme has been carefully designed to have minimum impact on surrounding properties with careful thought and consideration been made to soft landscaping and the single storey design.

The site formally received planning permission for a scheme involving 23 apartments, which due to the decline in the market during recession became unviable.
