Stoford Developments has managed to again secure the accolade of Estates Gazette’s West Midlands’ Property Company for the third successive year, and for the first time has won South West & Wales Property Company of the Year.
Despite a difficult market last year, Stoford completed 619,700 sq ft of mixed-use development space across the Midlands, including Staffordshire council’s 150,000 sq ft headquarters building, which was completed last September.
Ongoing projects include a 9,000 sq ft retail neighbourhood centre at Tividale in Dudley, due to be completed in September.Also in Dudley, Stoford has been appointed to build a 10,000 sq ft office for the Probation Service, due for completion in summer 2013, and a 63-bedroom Premier Inn hotel expected to finish in autumn this year.
The firm continues to step outside its traditional Midlands’ patch with a number of projects in the South West, including Cardiff’s biggest-yet prelet, a 215,000 sq ft HQ building for Admiral Group, due to be completed in 2014.
Stoford had a turnover of £48m in 2011, the same figure as in 2010,and up from £39m in 2009.Its development pipeline is valued at just under £80 million.
