Leading Midlands property specialists Stoford have completed a 63-bedroom Premier Inn hotel and restaurant in Dudley on time and on budget. The £3.8million scheme on the Castlegate Business Park was constructed in 28 weeks by the West Bromwich based contractor Anglo Holt. The funding for the project was provided by Custodian Capital in return for Premier Inn committing to a 20 year lease.
The newly opened hotel that occupiers the corner plot at the entrance of the Business Park is set to create around 25 new jobs and will provide a major boost to the local economy. Dan Gallagher, Joint Managing Director of Stoford said: “Premier Inn is one of the UK’s top brands and most successful businesses. We are delighted to have had the opportunity to deliver such a high profile development.” Simon Garland, Financial Director of Anglo Holt which specialises in hotel construction added: “Castlegate Business Park is an ideal location for the new hotel as there is excellent access by road and many entertainment facilities nearby. “The timber frame building features a new format for the hotel chain and incorporates public art.” John Bates, Head of Acquisitions UK and Ireland for Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants said the three-storey hotel, built on land orginally owned by the Homes and Communities Agency, would complement other hotels the company was developing across the West Midlands and the Black Country. “We currently have more than 52,000 Premier Inn bedrooms in the UK and are on track to achieve our target of 75,000 bedrooms by 2018,” he added The new hotel is Stoford’s second scheme at Castlegate Business Park where it has now started building a 10,000sq ft development for the Staffordshire and West Midlands Probation Trust.
