Property specialist Stoford has celebrated the completion of Simplyhealth House in Bristol, the first building development of healthcare insurance provider Simplyhealth. Stoford, the award-winning Birmingham-based firm, successfully completed the 62,275sq ft office in Clifton, Bristol, housing 402 employees in one of Bristol’s most popular districts. The scheme has been developed on a Gateway site for Bristol, in a beautiful conservation area overlooking The Historic Downs on Whiteladies Road. It marks the regeneration of a building that had long been left derelict. The new office has been built by BAM Construction and following careful design, the ground floor slab and basement car parking have been retained from the former structure and much of the demolition materials have been recycled.
The design will minimise energy use and carbon emissions, and also features renewable energy sources such as solar panels. David Brown, Director of Stoford, said the high quality BREEAM Excellent scheme represents a statement building; light, airy and with a clear, open plan working environment for Simplyhealth’s workforce. “We are delighted to have worked with Simplyhealth on such a landmark scheme. The development has been progressed with great consideration for the surrounding area, but with a clear vision on creating a strikingly attractive workplace with sustainability at its core.” James Glover, PMI Performance Director at Simplyhealth says: “We are very proud of our new building, which will provide a much brighter and more spacious open plan working environment for our employees in Bristol. It provides a modern base for our private medical insurance operations that gives us the ability to expand in the future.” Simplyhealth House is Stoford’s second major development in the South West following the completion of a £20 million regional distribution for Co-operative Food in Avonmouth.
